Revlon Photoready Foundation Shade Matching Chart

This is a chart I created based on the requests for shade matching I received through Youtube messages and comments. I've watched many of the reviews on Youtube and pored over reviews on www.makeupalley.com as well. With that said, when reading reviews, some people may be stating their winter shade or their summer shade. So if you happen to have the same MAC shade as them and try the corresponding shade, it may or may not match. Also, bear in mind where you fall in terms of your own MAC shade. For example, you may be in the lighter or darker end of the spectrum in NC35. Some tips on using the chart above:
  • This chart was created as a guide, please use it as a reference point.
  • Your undertone (either pink or yellow) will play a major role in shade determination.
  • The Revlon Photoready shades do NOT correspond to the Revlon Colorstay shades.
  • 006 Medium Beige is darker than 008 Golden Beige.
  • NC20 & NW20 are overwhelmingly 003 Shell.
  • There is a alternate pattern as the shade numbers increase moving from pink to yellow, pink to yellow.
  • 006 & 008 can be mixed to create shades NC30 - NC37.
  • Some shades (very light/very dark) may not be available in your area.
  • Word on the street is darker shades such as Caramel & Mocha are available.
  • Always feel free to mix shades to create your perfect shade.

If you happen to be my shade (MAC NC30-35) then you’re in some extra luck – below are the shades I use in a variety of foundations, both drugstore & high end. You may use them to shade match for Revlon Photoready or any of the other foundations listed:
  • Revlon Photoready in 008 Golden Beige
  • Revlon Colorstay in 310 Warm Golden
  • Maybelline 24Hr Superstay in Nude
  • Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Powder in Beige
  • Make Up Forever HD in 120 Sand
  • Stila Illuminating Foundation in 50 Watts
  • Bare Escentuals in Golden Medium
  • Victoria's Secret Soft Focus Liquid Foundation in Medium 10
  • Coastal Scents Undercover HD Foundation in ST-05

I hope this is helpful for anyone trying to find the right shade in Revlon Photoready. I have been getting a lot requests to shade match and figured this chart could be helpful for all of us. I really can’t help each and every one find their shade, so please refer to this chart in picking your shade. As there are around 10 shades in this product line, creating this chart was not too time consuming. However, please do not request charts for other foundations as I probably won’t be able to create one.

Please let me know if this chart was helpful in your quest to select a shade. Also, tell me if the chart didn’t work for and what your MAC shade is and which Revlon Photoready shade ended up being a good match. I will probably update this chart to coincide with your comments and messages for a bit before leaving the chart as is. In case you haven’t seen it, check out my review for Revlon Photoready on Youtube!

Happy Shopping;)

I Heart Cavalli

Cavalli was one of my first fashion crushes. I seem to have a penchant for the Italian houses: Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Gianfranco Ferre, Prada...the list goes on. It's sexy, it's sleek and has that "look at me" attitude. Though I have yet to own anything from these houses sans some perfume, it doesn't mean I can't make a little something of my own.

Cavalli belt
I first saw this ad a while back and for some reason was so drawn to the belt that I decided I had to make one. Why? I have no idea. It's not particularly interesting, nor does it induce lustworthyness. But I had made up my mind and voila:

studded belt

I took a belt from a trench coat and stud stud studded my way through the material and managed to get quite the look-a-like. I can probably wear it with the same black trench and feel like I have a brand new coat. What I'm most looking forward to doing is using it to replace the belts on my red, magenta and purple trench coats!

But even before allowing the belt to play its "official" role, I tried it out as makeshift suspenders and I really, really LOVE it!
